Vous pouvez lire ci-après un petit texte de Mumia en hommage à Danielle Mitterand, soutien de Mumia pendant de nombreuses années et qui lui avait rendu visite dans le couloir de la mort.

As the First Lady of France, she  was known as the wife of Prime
Minister, Francois Mitterand. Danielle Mitterand was known as a classical
 French beauty.

 In later years, after the passing of Francois, Mme. Mitterand was known as a staunch defender of human rights, and a strong opponent of the death penalty.

 In a way, this was understandable, for when her husband was Prime Minister of France, he and his Justice Minister, M. Robert Badinter, led the  struggle to abolish the death penalty from French soil.

 This was no small feat, for not only was the death penalty popular, but French revolutionary history was emblazoned with the spectacle of the guillotine, called by some 'the National Razor.'

 The Mitterand administration would formally abolish this feature of French Law in 1981. Madame Mitterand, through her Foundation, fought against   the death penalty abroad, in Francophone African countries, in China, and here  in the United States.

 She was a dear friend, a solid supporter and a sweet woman

  Comme c'est 1a Femme du Premier de Republfque de Francaise, M. Francois  Mitterand. Mme. Danielle Mitterand ete une beaute Francaise classique.

Dans une jours plus tard, apres la mort de Francois, Mme. Mitterand fut  un defenseur de droit l'homme, et adversaire tres fort de peine de mort.

C'est comprehensible pour quand lui mari, M. MitteranG, une Premier de Republique, il est l'ami, Ministre de Justice, M. Robert :Badinter, commencer la lutte a abolir la peine de mort de terre de Francaise.

N'est pas la prouesse mininmale, pour la peine de mort ete populaire en France, pour histoire revolutionaire Francaise ete une embleme et spectacle du guillotine: 'le rasoir nationale.'

L'administration Mitterand abolire la peine de mort en 1981. Mme Mitterand, avec sa foundation, se battre, contre la peine de mort, en  Afrique  Francophone, en la Chine, et ici en L'Etats-Unis.

Elle fut une amie chere, une partisane solide, et une femme gentille
